Paver Patios

A patio is a perfect place for gatherings, fun chats, serious talks, and even silent solitude. It is where you are partly secluded yet partly revealed, giving you a little freedom and a little privacy. It also works as your style show-off, so it must be high-class and high taste. That’s why at Designscape, we design and build patios using the best materials and employ the best people.

Patio Types

Patios are characterized by hardscape dominance. There’s the concrete slab patio that’s easier and cheaper to install yet can look awfully unattractive because of concrete’s grey and dull color. It can be colored and textured, though. But keep in mind that concrete slabs tend to crack and develop mold and mildew. Repairing and replacing can be costlier in the long run.

Paver patios are your better choice. They are also made out of concrete, but they are precast and pre-molded. Each piece is laid down on a surface to mimic the look and feel of natural stone, and it is uniformly cut for easy installation.

We use premium quality pavers for our patio and other landscaping projects. But for us, nothing beats stone patios. These are built using natural stones quarried from different parts of the country. Since natural, expect these stones to have the best durability and the highest aesthetic value.

Patio Designs

The living room patio is undoubtedly the most common in Minnesota. It mimics the look and feel of your living room, only using furniture pieces that were made specially to withstand the outdoor challenges. Couches, lounge chairs, love seats, and coffee tables dominate this design. We highly recommend this style if you have a spare 16-foot-by-18-foot area. Meanwhile, a smaller patio design can be used as an outdoor dining area. It can be a six- to eight-chair area, where everyone can enjoy the taste of homemade dishes. For this, you’ll need at least 12 feet of an area. An even smaller patio design is the bistro patio. It’s more like a small living room, only that you have coffee table for two. And if the space is even smaller, you can have a sundeck instead.

Building Beautiful Patios

It is important to determine what you want to do with the area so our design team can lay down the perfect design for your patio and add features that will spice up the entire scene. A small fountain, for example, can add relaxing appeal to a living room patio, and a trellis-inspired roof can protect a dining patio from the harmful sun.
